PAINTING WITH PASTELS - Lisa Mitchell
This class will introduce the student to working with soft pastels, or developing skills in the more experienced artist. Explore a different subject matter each week. List of required materials will be provided.

BEGINNER FLY TYING - Mark Foley
This course offers instruction on how to tie flies that will catch fish in salt and fresh water. Review fly tying equipment and materials options. Equipment and materials provided. Minimum of 5 students required.

BEGINNING CROCHET - Alesia Dopson
Learn how to read directions, increase & decrease, work in rounds vs. rows, and all the different “types” of stitches. Students will make multiple pieces, including a hat, animal, and more as time permits. Supplies provided. Additional yarns can be purchased. Please bring scissors and pencil.
Thursdays, 4 weeks, beginning October 3, $60, 7:00-8:30 pm
CHAIR CANE AND RUSH SEATING – Carolyn Brooks
Restore the chair sitting in your cellar by learning how to weave a cane or rush seat. Chairs should have wood refinished. Bring to first class: chair, pail, scissors, hammer, pencil. Other Materials provided.
Class will meet for 3 sessions, Tuesday, October 8, Thursday October 10 And last class Tuesday, October 15. Cost is $55, 6:30-8:30 pm

HOLIDAY DRIED WREATH & CANDLE CENTERPIECE - Linda Gebhart

One Night, Thursday, November 14, $25 6:30-8:30pm
PAPER PIECED QUILTING- Lisa McCarthy
This class will provide a quilting overview: how to choose fabrics ; tools used in basic quilting and paper piecing; quilt room safety; cutting fabric using a rotary cutter and template layout sheets; putting it all together; simple quilting and how to bind the final snowflake project. Learn “trim before you sew” paper piecing technique; how to stage and stack your fabric and how to get the centers of your stars to lay flat. Class held at Compass Point Quilts Studio, 59 Sanborn Rd, East Kingston. Supplies included. No class on October 9th.
Wednesdays, 10 weeks, beginning October 2, $100 6:30-8:30 pm
RUG BRAIDING – Carolyn Brooks
For beginners or those with some experience, learn techniques in planning and starting a rug, lacing, butting, and choosing wool. A small rug or chair seat can be finished with some homework. Bring scissors, thread, pins, thimble, and needle.

SCULPTING ANIMALS & FIGURES - Angela Ottati
Using Polymer clay learn to create one of a kind sculptures. Different techniques will be covered as well as proportions, armatures, tools, texturing and painting. Material provided to make a small project.

Beginning sewers will pick a project and learn the basics. Experienced sewers may decided on project with the instructor to advance skills. Class meets at the Cooperative Middle School in Stratham.

Choose to make either a Snowmen glass ball or Santa cinnamon stick ornament. Makes great gifts & tree decorations. Includes all supplies needed for the project.

SPOOKY WITCH OR JACK-O-LANTERN DECORATIVE BOTTLES - Linda Gebhart
This Halloween use empty wine bottles to decorate and make either a Spooky Witch or Jack-O-Lantern decorative bottle. Students need to bring an empty green wine bottle to class to paint. Other supplies are provided.

VICTORIAN CHRISMAS TRADITIONS - Sherry Brandsema
In this one night class take a look at the beginnings of a National Holiday and ways to celebrate in the manner of the 19th Century. The instructor is formerly a museum Victorian Role-player.

* Beginning students may want to purchase an inexpensive basic/child’s watercolor set at Michael's or Wal-Mart
* Watercolor paper, 140 lb cold press
* a set of synthetic watercolor brushes, including nicely pointed small, medium and big brushes and liner brushes for fine details
* Masking tape
* 1 small (natural) sponge
* 1 pencil and eraser
* 2 water containers
* 1 watercolor palette and 1 white plastic plate
* A box of Kleenex
* Watercolor pencils
* A pair of scissors
* 1 small white candle
