HAND CRAFT COURSES

 BEGINNER KNITTING -  Heather Dixon
Thursdays, 4 weeks, beginning October 9, $75, 6-8 pm

Learn the basics of knitting-how to Cast On, the Knit Stitch, Bind Off and seaming. Complete either a cozy cowl, basic hat, wrist warmers or drinks koozies. Tips and tricks for Identifying and Fixing mistakes offered as needed.

CHAIR CANING AND RUSH SEATING -  Carolyn Brooks
Tuesdays, 3 weeks, beginning October 14, $55, 6:30-8:30 pm

Restore a chair by learning how to weave a cane or rush seat. Bring to first class a chair, pail,
scissors, hammer and pencil. Materials provided. Maximum 8 students.

CREATIVE WRAPPING, TAGS & CARDS - Sherry Brandsema

Present gifts in creative ways using a variety of materials.

FLY TYING - William Ciaurro
Tuesdays, 6 weeks, beginning September 30, $100, 6:00-9:00 pm
This course will cover many aspects of fly tying. Nymphs, streamers, drys and salt water flies will be studied.   All styles and patterns are local favorites and are guaranteed to fish. William from
FlySpoke.com will teach you from his 45 years of high quality fly tying experience.

PAINTING WITH PASTELS - Lisa Mitchell
Mondays, 6 weeks, beginning October 6, $90, 6:30-8:30 pm

RUG BRAIDING -  Carolyn Brooks - PLEASE NOTE CHANGE IN DATE FROM FLYER

For beginners or those with some experience, learn techniques in planning and starting a rug, lacing, butting & choosing wool. Small rug or chair seat can be finished. Bring scissors, thread, pins, thimble & needle.

Beginner will pick a project and learn the basics. Experienced sewers may decide on project to
advance skills. Class meets at the Cooperative Middle School in Stratham.

Learn more about Victorian women including fashion from head to toe, curious and unexpected activities, crafts, language and literature, and have “tea” on the second class. The instructor has role-played a Victorian Woman for five years and has been researching the 19th century for 15-20 years

These pen and ink designs are the hot trend now, it's easy to learn. There is no "wrong way" to this art form, it's relaxing and helps people to focus while drawing structured patterns.
