INTRODUCTION TO COLD PROCESS SOAP MAKING

Learn the basics of making cold process soap as well as the chemistry, necessary materials, supplies, equipment and safety precautions. Learn how to color and scent the soap, prepare the soap mold, as well as, insulating, cutting, curing and storing finished soap. Using only plant based oils, essential oils, flower petals and all natural exfoliants, participants will be able to create their own 10 bar batch of soap to take home.  For safety reasons, students should wear a long-sleeved shirt. Bring a 2.5 lb mold or purchase one from the instructor. Also bring an old towel or blanket to insulate the soap on the way home. One night workshop.
